About 30 years ago, NASA sent out two space probes, called the Voyager into space, destined to leave the solar system into the interstellar space (somewhere beyond our solar system). The Voyager carried a gold plated disc, called the GOLDEN RECORD, containing sounds and images portraying the diversity of life and culture on Earth. It also contained greeting from Earth in 55 languages of different races on Earth. The Golden Record was intended to allow alien life forms that intercept the Voyager learn about Earth. The photograph shown above, taken in Malaysia, was titled Father and Daughter. It was one of the 116 photos recorded in the Golden Record. The photo below is the Golden Record. Isn’t this great? I wonder if both of them know about this…
***The Voyager is now at the edge of the solar system and it is still constantly sending images and sound back to Earth.
