Driving all the way up to 10th mile just to eat Kolo Mee? Ridiculous (Someone I knew went with his family almost every weekend, phew!!). I wouldn’t do that but on this particular day, I went to eat the famed RM 13 Kolo Mee with Cassie while I am on the way to the Nephentes and Orkid garden located just after the 10th Mile market ( my exact purpose to go there, not to eat ). Entry fee is RM1 per-person. It might be a good place to visit on a hot sunny afternoon as the garden is covered with vine over the roof-top and there are fans spraying mist all over the place. Nephentes are the main attraction there, big one, fat one, tiny one, GIANT one…
The local municipal council (Padawan) is spending so much money maintaining this place but the day i went there, it was only Cassie and I in there. The place is wonderful , full of life (there is a pond full of japanese carp and insects of course). I took some photo and the one on above is the best one i took. Is it the RM 1 entrance fee that keeps the local away (RM 1 to view hundreds of species of priceless nephentes compare to RM 13 Kolo Mee with a cost of maybe RM 5)? Or is it that people here take nature for granted as they would say " I see those little grass everyday ! " Plants like these aren’t common anymore nowadays. I don’t know. I just think that gardens like this one and the Orkid Garden situated not far from Fort Margarhita should be more appreciated by the local, Chinese especially. Hmmmm……

Although it seems a bit unappropriate to talk about life at my age, there are a few things that i would never regret doing it.
First, I never regret joining the Scout movement. We are always being considered the Neanderthal people due to the activities we did. People who never joined scout or those who wear a Scout uniform but never camped before would never understand or value the things we learnt through Scouting. Joining the 05th Kuching Scout Group is a great life experience to me and shaped the who I am today. Camping under the big tree, helping injured fellow Scout brothers and sisters through hiking trail, strive hard to win a competition, all these are just too great an experience to be forgotten. Although i didn’t participate much in Scout activities today, I still strongly feel that I am a Scout as once a Scout, always a Scout.
Second, I would never regret staying back in Kuching after SPM and continue to do Form 6 in ST. Thomas.  I highlighted St. Thomas because I might regret doing Form 6 if I wasn’t in St. Thomas. Studying in St. Thomas is like being in a pressure cooker ( especially when Pn. Jane, a very good teacher, teaches u Chemistry ), but it gave us the time and the opportunity to get to know know each other really well and learn the true value of friendship. I am not sure about how other Form 6 students think, but I think that no matter how many friends you make while you are in university or after that when u start working, you always get back together with the friends you know from Form 1 to Form 6 and there are sort of like your ‘lim-teh’ gang. St.Thom is a beautiful and great school and it some how makes you feel that someday you are going back just simply for a walk.
